Wetpaint Users Can Now Dynamically Structure Their Wiki Pages to Meet Their Unique Content Needs
"We continually aim to give consumers the personalization options and features they need to build a Wiki that enables them to collaborate with other like-minded people and tailor their sites to meet their community's expectations," said Ben Elowitz, CEO of Wetpaint. "Customizable navigation further advances our consumers' ability to build a Wiki that truly reflects their most passionate interests."
The Rise of the Collaborative Consumer
According to predictions by analysts at Gartner, the blogging phenomenon is set to peak in 2007 with the firm stating that 200 million people have already stopped writing their blogs. As the Web community at large has sought to go beyond the "you" of blogs and social networks to connect with groups of "we," Wetpaint has and is experiencing tremendous growth by catering to the collaborative consumer.
Since the June 2006 launch of the Wetpaint consumer Wiki platform, more than 350,000 user-generated community Wikis have been created. Elowitz continued, "We're seeing both corporations and everyday consumers move away from static Web content in favor of community-powered content environments. There's just not a lot of room left for one-way conversations on the Web, and features like customizable navigation make collaboration and dynamic content creation even easier."
